Anvil City Science Academy
Nome, Alaska

Students & Staff of 2007-2008, at Anvil Rock.

The Anvil City Science Academy is a charter school in its ninth year of operation. ACSA has expanded from a "one room school house" since the 2000-2001 school year. For the 2001-2002 school year, we added an additional teacher and now accommodate 44 students.

As a part of the Nome Public School System, A.C.S.A. offers the students of Nome a unique educational opportunity. The fifth through eighth grade students of the Academy come to the program with a wide variety of backgrounds, learning styles, experiences, and needs. By addressing individual differences, there will be an increase in the potential for learning and creativity of each student. Through cross-curricular projects, students draw together personal experience and intellectual growth to promote self-discovery and construct knowledge.

Our web page will showcase student work and document the daily activities of our classroom. It will also be used to evaluate our success in reaching the many short term and long term goals we have set. We hope you enjoy our web page.
