Nome Public Schools District Goals

The Board will support all efforts to ensure academic success of all students.

The Board will aggressively seek funding for education.

The Board will continue to cultivate a quality working relationship with the Nome Common Council.

The Board will strive to recruit and retain highly qualified staff.

Supporting Objectives

The Board will support efforts to ensure the academic success of all students.

 

Specific Objectives

•   Annual academic growth of one year or more will be targeted for all

     students.

•   Clearly communicate student achievement information to all

     stakeholders.

•   Equip each board member with a comprehensive understanding of

     student achievement results.

 

The Board will aggressively seek funding for education.

Specific Objectives

  • Work cooperatively with the Nome Common Council.
  • Participate in local, state, and federal lobbying efforts.
  • Support securing grant funds to help achieve the Nome Public School mission.

The Board will continue to cultivate a quality working relationship with the Nome Common Council.

Specific Objectives

•    Meet with the Nome Common Council quarterly.

•    Communicate with the Nome Common Council on a regular basis.

•    Give regular verbal reports to the Nome Common Council.

The Board will strive to recruit and retain highly qualified staff.

  • Promote teachers in achieving and maintaining highly qualified status.
  • Provide relevant staff development with input from staff leadership teams.
  • Recognize excellence in staff.
  • Promote opportunities for staff advancement.
